Communication Minor Declaration - Department of Communication

In order to be eligible to declare a minor in communication student's must have a 2.75 University of Utah GPA and have successfully passed a University of Utah COMM course with a 'c' or better

Students intending to complete the Strategic Communication minor or Media Studies minor must submit the following declaration form.

Please note: The Strategic Communication minor and Media Studies minor must be attached to a non-Communication major. You must be in full major status to submit this form. Pre majors such as Pre-Business cannot declare a minor until they are fully declared in the major.

Minor Options

The Strategic Communication minor and Media Studies minor is open ONLY to non-Communication majors.

Strategic Communication Minor Declaration Requirements

Submit this form ONLY if you have done both of the following:

I have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA at the University of Utah

I have completed at least ONE COMM course at the University of Utah with a C or better grade

Media Studies Minor Declaration Requirements

Submit this form ONLY if you have done both of the following:

I have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA at the University of Utah

I have completed ONE on the following with a C or better grade: COMM 3020, COMM 3505, or COMM 5540

Please note: You will not be notified when declared if you meet requirements. Please allow 3-5 business days and check your CIS for confirmation of your declaration.
